- Position Title: Digital Campaigner
- Salary and benefits: $36,600 – $40,800, based on experience and qualifications. Including 12 days of paid vacation per year, 6 sick days and 1 personal day.

- Status: Part-time (3 days a week) (12-month, fixed term contract with the possibility of extending contingent on funding).
- Location: The selected candidate will work from home, with occasional travel in the Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal corridor. The CNCA office is located in Ottawa. Co-workers are in Toronto and Montreal.

About the CNCA
The Canadian Network on Corporate Accountability (CNCA) is a project of the Steelworkers Humanity Fund, a registered Canadian charitable organization. The CNCA brings together over 40 organizations from across Canada that advocate for Canadian policy and law reform to ensure Canadian corporations respect human rights and the environment throughout their global operations and supply chains.
Position Summary
Working in a collaborative environment with two other staff members, under the supervision of the CNCA Director, the Digital Campaigner will oversee the development and implementation of the CNCA’s digital strategy.
This is a results-oriented position in which the Digital Campaigner will be an integral member of the CNCA team and our advocacy for greater corporate accountability, with a focus on designing and implementing strategies to engage our audiences and build the movement. The successful candidate will combine data-driven thinking, a sharp eye for content and social awareness to track trends and respond to opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Digital strategy and advocacy
- Leading the development and implementation of the CNCA’s digital strategy (social media and website presence), working closely with CNCA staff and membership, and building people power into the CNCA’s advocacy;
- Curating and administering the CNCA’s social media presence to amplify our work and that of our members, as well as reaching the audiences that are critical to our success;
- Launching and running the CNCA’s new Instagram page as part of digital strategy;
- Setting clear objectives and key performance indicators to ensure the purpose and impact of the CNCA’s digital advocacy is clearly communicated and understood by staff and membership;
- Listening to the CNCA’s audiences, following cultural trends and staying updated on the CNCA’s campaign issues online to recommend timely digital opportunities and tactics.
- Content creation
- Designing and creating engaging written, graphic, and social media content for the CNCA’s online (social media and website) channels and website with a focus on mobilizing existing and new audiences;
- Embedding this content creation within a coherent digital strategy;
- Other special content creation as needed, including for live events and community delegations.
- Coordination and data analysis
- Developing strategies in consultation with digital engagement experts across the CNCA’s membership;
- Coordinating and amplifying CNCA member posts on social media channels;
- Creating periodic reports for CNCA staff and membership on content and web performance;
- Advising on data-based adaptations in approach based on these progressive learnings.
The responsibilities of the Digital Campaigner may be adjusted to include other responsibilities, including tasks currently assigned to other staff members, at the direction of the CNCA Director. This could specifically include support in fundraising.
Qualifications and assets
- Minimum of 3 years experience creating digital content, including content for social media channels like Instagram, Twitter and other platforms for a brand or nonprofit organization;
- A degree in a related field (e.g., graphic design, communications) is an asset but not required, especially for candidates with a proven track record;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Bilingual in English and French (written and spoken);
- High level of proficiency with graphic design software and excellent digital content creation skills. Ability to produce engaging written and visual online and social media specific content;
- Ability to create and drive digital media strategies using web and social media platforms;
- Ability to write impactful and engaging campaign messaging that resonates with our audience;
- Capacity to both work in a self-directed manner and collaborate in a team;
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail;
- Ability to manage multiple outputs in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
- Commitment to human rights, social and environmental justice. Understanding of colonial, racial, gendered and other systems of oppression in our society and the world.
